Mark and Rick Watsom of Little Rock Arkansas were sentenced to 10 years in jail for a fraud ring that spanned  from 1994 to 2006. They orchestrated insurance fraud on over 45 known car crashes, and possibly more, to date.

Another hitch in the case came when MLK director DuShun Scarborough reportedly got insurance payouts for damage and injuries from four car crashes where a Watson was a driver or passenger.

However, he wasn’t ultimately charged in any scams.

“They were really pretty good at it,” said Insurance Commissioner Julie Bowman. “They would make it look like other people were at fault staging car crashes and in many instances, the other people would get tickets.”

Read more here. People are getting crazier and crazier, I swear. I’m glad these guys got their comeuppance, especially since this instance is one where they directly endangered human life. Honestly, I think 12 years is a slap on the wrist for something like this. Can you imagine how many people they hurt?
