Man Commits Insurance Fraud for His Hummer H3

Oh yeah. My response too was whaaat? However, according to the story in the Item what happened is this: Tyler Parrish confessed to 11 counts of insurance fraud and forgery.
Under mounting debt for his H3, he thought he’d just file a total loss claim with his insurance company (like they wouldn’t find the car). They caught him and began prosecuting him, only to learn that he had several other incidents on his record.
He had reported his fiancee’s engagement ring missing. He filed a police report and everything but they found out the ring was really with his grandparents. Earlier in the year, he had reported a lost ATM card and been reimbursed from the bank. Here’s the stupid part: he didn’t know that all ATM’s have cameras so he DROVE up in his HUMMER the day the card was reported stolen and the money taken out.
There were a couple other incidents as well.
Granted, the guy is majorly in debt to the tune of 200k, but still, there are other, better ways to deal.
